ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL is OUR GREATEST CANADIAN
Last spring CBC Television invited Canadians of all ages to nominate their choice for THE GREATEST CANADIAN, past and present, for an innovative new television series. The response was astounding. CBC Television collected 139, 433 nominations and the debates, arguments, laughs and rallies began.
My name is Nicole Brewster, Associate Producer on the Alexander Graham Bell documentary for the Greatest Canadian. Bell, the inventor of the telephone, made the most important contribution to the modern world. And there is so much more behind this man. Bell is a genius, a visionary, and a humanitarian—He’s also the Greatest Canadian of all time. He made the top 10 list - and now it’s up to you to make sure he wins!
Watch Monday, November 15th at 8:00 pm EST (8:30 NT) as Evan Solomon of CBC News: Sunday and Hot Type makes the case for Alexander Graham Bell. Solomon’s experience as a journalist, editor, author and anchor proves valuable as he champions behind his Greatest Canadian while fending off the other Advocates during the six-week series. Solomon is both compelling and convincing as he presents Bell’s genius and uncovers his many discoveries. Every time Canadians make a telephone call, they can afford to feel a little national pride.
Solomon states that, “No one has done more for our country and more for the world than Bell, and no one embodies all that is great in us—our generosity, our courage, our quiet strength and daring—more than Alexander Graham Bell. Try even voting for another candidate without using Bell’s invention. You can’t do it because Bell is everywhere.”
Watch Evan as he scales Skydome, teeters on a jet wing and runs the Grand River rapids - making his pitch for The Greatest Canadian, Alexander Graham Bell.
You can vote BELL after each and every one of the Greatest Canadian documentaries. VOTE for BELL more than once! MAKE SURE TO VOTE FOR BELL AT 1-866-303-VOTE or cbc.ca/greatest
